Hello everyone,



A few days ago I was stopped by the police and tested positive for cocaine and opioids (I am currently on medication). So far I still haven’t received any official information, and I understand that these things can take time. However, after doing some research, I am quite sure that I will probably be required to do an MPU.


I would like to ask for advice from people who have gone through this process. Would you recommend taking an MPU preparation course, or is it better to hire someone privately for preparation? Maybe someone here in the forum also offers this kind of support or can recommend somebody reliable.

I also wanted to ask whether there is a possibility to complete the whole MPU process in English, since I am not a German speaker.


I am located in the Frankfurt area, so any local recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

unfortunately, there don't seem to be any users who can help you in English at the moment.

Do you have the option of contacting a translator?

I can tell you that if you consume hard drugs (cocaine), your driver's license will initially be revoked. Since you most likely don't have a German driver's license, the procedure is different.

It's always better to choose individual preparation. This can be done with a traffic psychologist.

Yes, my driving license is not German, but it is still an EU license. May I ask what the usual procedure is for EU driving licenses in such cases? Also, could it be that the driving ban would only apply in Germany (until the MPU is completed), while I would still be allowed to drive in other EU countries?

The use of hard drugs is a criminal offense. In this case, your driver's license will most likely be returned to the issuing country, as Germany cannot revoke it itself. The issuing country will then decide on further consequences. Legally speaking, the driving ban only applies in Germany.
